In late January, Lowell High School was the scene of students, faculty, and parents who mounted a counter protest to members of a conservative church based group from Kansas. The group picketed Jewish Synagogues in the San Francisco Bay Area, as well as schools that provide a safe environment for LGBTQ students.

Lowell students, in collaboration with faculty and staff, created a response that celebrated the diversity of Lowell High School, San Francisco Unified School District and the larger Bay Area.
