Registraion links will become available when registration is open for each event. To register for a training please complete all of the requested fields on the linked registration form. Upon submitting your registration you will be sent a confirmation with the details of the training.

August 13, 2011, 1-5pm	Mentoring Best Practices	Discuss how mentoring works, and what responsibilities and commitments it entails. Learn how to break the ice with your mentee and develop a deep relationship!
August 24, 2011	Mentoring Program Orientation	Mentoring coordinators will gather to discuss plans for the upcoming year, receive policy and procedure updates, and get excited about mentoring! 8:30am-12:00pm for new coordinators 12:30pm-4:00pm for veteran coordinators
September 15, 2011, 10:00-11:30am	Dealing with Difficult Issues: Crises and Opportunities Online Training	Learn how to deal with crises when they come up in your mentees life, and how to see it as an opportunity for growth.

September 28, 2011	Strategies for Sustaining Your Match	Designed for mentors who have been matched with their mentee for at least one month, mentors will reflect on their experience. Participants will continue to build their capacity to support their student and gain new skills for future planning.
October 6, 2011, 4:00-6:00pm	San Francisco Gangs Overview	Learn how to talk about gang involvement with your mentee, and if you need to be concerned about your students safety or your own.
October 15, 2011, 1-5pm	Mentoring Best Practices	Discuss how mentoring works, and what responsibilities and commitments it entails. Learn how to break the ice with your mentee and develop a deep relationship!
October 15, 2011	Difficult Conversations: Talking about Sex	Learn how to bring up and explore topics related to sex.
October 25, 2011	Cultural Competency/Asset Based Approach
November 8, 2011, 8:30am-3:30pm	Mentor 101: Assets, Attachment, Trauma and Closure	This training gives comprehensive skills to mentors. We cover all the policies and systems that support the mentor pair. Mentors are trained on setting boundaries, communication and factors young people need to thrive.
November 12, 2011, 1-5pm	Mentoring Best Practices	Discuss how mentoring works, and what responsibilities and commitments it entails. Learn how to break the ice with your mentee and develop a deep relationship!
November 15, 2011, 4:00-6:00pm	LGBTQ Issues	Come learn about bullying, homophobia, boundaries and telling your story in respect to LGBTQ issues, and how to talk about them with your mentee.
December 1, 2011, 4:00-6:00pm	Supporting Foster Youth Through Holidays	This workshop raises mentor awareness of the impact the foster system has on youth, provides mentors with tools to help share their story, and assists mentors in guiding students to strategically tell their story. Emphasis on the use of holidays as a tool of connection.
January 11, 2012, 4:00-6:00pm	Strategies for Sustaining Your Match	Designed for mentors who have been matched with their mentee for at least one month, mentors will reflect on their experience. Participants will continue to build their capacity to support their student and gain new skills for future planning.
January 21, 2012, 1-5pm	Mentoring Best Practices	Discuss how mentoring works, and what responsibilities and commitments it entails. Learn how to break the ice with your mentee and develop a deep relationship!
February 7, 2012, 8:30am-3:30pm	Mentor 201	A full day training for active mentors, topics include future orienting, goal setting, working through road-blocks, understanding risk, empowering youth, and self-care.
February 9, 2012, 4:00-6:00pm	Difficult Conversations: Drugs and Alcohol	Learn how to talk with your mentee about drugs and alcohol.
March 7, 2012, 4:00-6:00pm	Strategies for Sustaining Your Match	Designed for mentors who have been matched with their mentee for at least one month, mentors will reflect on their experience. Participants will continue to build their capacity to support their student and gain new skills for future planning.
April 10, 2012, 4:00-6:00pm	Best Practices in Match Closure	Participants will learn how to best close a match with a mentee.
