- gain knowledge of garden-based nutrition education curricular resources
- review standards of science-based nutrition education and garden physical activity.

Why are nutrition, physical activity and gardening important?
 
Elementary School Teachers are using their senses to explore dirt. Proper nutrition begins with nutrient dense soil. Teachers learn to tell if the soil is rich in vitamins and minerals by touching, smelling and seeing if the earth is fertile.
