California Adolescent Nutrition and Fitness Program (CANFIT)
Addresses nutrition, body image, physical activity, and school policies for low-income, minority youth ages 10 – 14.
Healthy Kids Resource Center
Borrow health education materials for free. Research summaries, school health laws, programs and links to health education websites are also available.
Dole Super Kids
Features free classroom resources and materials, kids cookbook, and lesson plans targeted for 3 rd – 4 th graders. (Dole5aday.com)
Eat Smart. Play Hard   
Gives practical suggestions that will help motivate children and their caregivers to eat healthy and be active. The site also has materials in Spanish.
Harvest of the Month
This site was developed by the state’s Network for a Healthy California program and has numerous downloadable resources for educators and parents/guardians, highlighting fruit & vegetables.
National Gardening Association
Offers instructional materials, product catalogue and grant/award programs for school gardens
California Project Lean
Provides lesson plans aimed at grades 9 – 12, newsletters, international recipes, articles and consumer materials in English and Spanish. “Bright Ideas” section highlights effective school and community based programs and strategies.
California Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom
Promotes increased awareness and understanding of agriculture. Includes teacher lesson plans, website links, and a kids’ corner with games and recipes.
USDA - Team Nutrition
Offers elementary and middle school nutrition education curriculum, book lists for children, handouts, and an online cookbook.
SPARK
Provides activities designed to improve the quality and quantity of physical activity for children and teachers. Site has sample lesson plans and a lifelong wellness program.
Community Alliance with Family Farmers (CAFF)
Connects school cafeterias with local farmers, who provide fresh lunch ingredients, explain how food is grown, and conduct tours of their farms for school children.
MyPyramid For Kids
MyPyramid materials designed specifically for children aged 6 to 11. (from the U.S. Department of Agriculture).
USDA Nutrition Site

CA Project Teen Lean
Arms teenagers with the nutrition background and tools to improve their eating habits and physical activity levels.
Dole Super Kids
Promotes eating more fruits and vegetables in a fun way. Kids site includes recipes, music, games, interesting facts and fitness activities.
Kids Health for Kids
Provides nutrition and health information and fun games like Mission Nutrition. Click on "Staying Healthy" and you can learn about the food guide pyramid, keeping fit with exercise, and lots more.
