Welcome to the Student Attendance Review Board

The San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) School Attendance Review Board (SARB) is comprised of representatives from the school district, social services, probation, law enforcement, and other community agencies and individuals. SARB meets with students and families to collaboratively identify persistent attendance issues, and develop solutions to resolve these issues.

SARB works with over 20 City and community-based organizations to help meet the needs of students with attendance issues. Three hundred twenty-eight SARB hearings were held during the 2008-2009 school year, and as a result district elementary schools experienced a 23% decrease in truancy
