Welcome to the Condom Availability Program

In order to address student health risk behaviors, including sexual behaviors that may lead to communicable diseases, HIV infection, and teenage pregnancy, the San Francisco Unified School District established a Condom Availability Program (CAP) in all high schools in 1993.

This program is authorized by Superintendent’s Policy # 19¬-24 SP1 (approved by the Board of Education 10/8/91). The policy is implemented at each school site in collaboration with the site coordinators, health care professionals and the Department of Public Health.
