The purpose of the School Health Center is to assess elementary school children for health problems that may be interfering with their attendance, academic achievement, developmental and/or social success.
The School Health Center was established by the San Francisco Unified School District’s Student Support Services Department – Intervention, formerly the School Health Programs Department, in January, 1992, in response to the need for comprehensive assessment and early intervention of elementary children with school difficulties.
