Youth in the Spotlight

	4th Annual Revolution in Art and Dance For the past four years, ExCEL After School Program sites have participated in the Revolution in Art and Dance (RAD), a dance and performing arts showcase that brings together students from across the district to show off their hard work after a year of practice and preparation.
	ExCEL Student Poets Head to NYC In celebration of National Poetry Month, two ExCEL After School students will represent the Bay Area at the 4th Annual America SCORES National Poetry Slam on April 19, 2010 at the New York Stock Exchange.
	Students Shine at Youth Action Conference Each semester, ExCEL middle and high school students participate in a Youth Action Conference, a day of youth-led workshops that promote leadership skills and instruction on how to be active members of their community.

	3rd Annual Revolution in Art and Dance The 3rd Annual Revolution in Art and Dance (RAD) took place on February 5, 2009 at Everett Middle School.  The auditorium was packed as close to 150 students danced in routines ranging from Hip-hop to Latin dance, from Samoan dance, to Chinese Dragon and Lion dances, from Bollywood to Breakdancing.  It was a true trip around the world!  Check out the video and photos to see highlights.
	2nd Annual Revolution in Art and Dance The 2nd Annual Revolution in Art and Dance (RAD) was held at Everett Middle School on January 24, 2008. RAD is a district-wide dance and art showcase that gives an opportunity for ExCEL After School Program sites to highlight and share the talent and hard work of their students.
	2nd Annual Youth Action Conference Over 40 middle and high school students participated in the 2nd Annual Youth Action Conference (YAC) at Everett Middle School.
	National Youth Service Day ExCEL After School Programs Celebrate National Youth Service Day 2007. Throughout this April, over 45 ExCEL After School Program sites are participating in National Youth Service Day activities.
	RAD: Revolution in Art & Dance This fall the call went out to all ExCEL After School Program participants to apply to perform in a district-wide dance showcase at Everett Middle School on January 25, 2007.
	Lights On After School On Thursday, October 12, ExCEL After School Programs around the city participated in Lights On Afterschool events..
