Students Shine at Youth Action Conference

Students Shine at Youth Action Conference

Each semester, ExCEL middle and high school students participate in a Youth Action Conference, a day of youth-led workshops that promote leadership skills and instruction on how to be active members of their community. This fall, the Youth Action Conference was held on November 25th at Everett Middle School, and over 90 students arrived at 9 a.m. eager to participate. Students volunteered to prepare and present the following workshops:

Get Heard! Speak Like a Leader and Strive!
Dress for Success
Cross Level Academic Success
Get Heard! More Than Words!

In the afternoon, students participated in service-learning projects at the San Francisco Animal Care and Control facility; the Dolores Park Playground; and Everett Middle School. We are very proud of each of our students and staff for their outstanding leadership skills and contributions. They made this great event happen!
